Disney Social Media Moms Portland & MyPrintly Trip Report- Part 2
Part 2 of our adventures in Portland, the MyPrintly event! If you missed the first installment, check it out here.
It was super hot and humid on June 8th. After a dip in the pool, I got ready for the MyPrintly event at the DoubleTree Portland. We were staying a bit down the road at Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station. The easiest thing was to take the lightrail from our hotel. The walk to the lightrail station is only about 35 yards or so from Aloft’s front door.
The lightrail was practically empty 3 of the 4 times I rode it. Which for me was super surprising since 2 of those trips were during rush hour. That was good. Also, be prepared to show valid fare. I was asked more than once to show my valid ticket. It was a very different experience than I’ve had on lightrail trains in other cities.
The directions on The DoubleTree website made it seem like the hotel was 3 blocks from the lightrail station. I was terrified I would end up a hot and sweaty mess! In truth, The DoubleTree was directly to the left of the station, not even a block away. Perfect!
We’re here!
Now, if you’ve never heard of MyPrintly, it’s a service by HP which provides cute printable crafts and stationery for free! Definitely check it out!
After a brief introduction, we were told we would be testing a brand new technology tonight, assisted by these guys!
Anything that we hashtagged #MyPrintly would automatically print to one of those four printers! How cool would that be during weddings, family reunions or other events? Actually the technology was seamless, and everything I hashtagged printed right away.
Also very cool was the HP Snapshots App. This allows you to print photos from Facebook, Instagram, Flickr or your camera roll. It was pretty neat since the photos printed with your social media captions, and some templates even showed the date and number of likes.
Even cooler, we received Snapshot paper packs with adhesive backing, so you can stick them anywhere. We received them before they hit the market too! The paper would be perfect for birthday parties, or maybe a scavenger hunt!
MyPrintly also had some pretty fun tables setup. Like cupcake decorating! Who can resist?
Here’s my extremely delicious, Mickey-themed cupcake!
We could also decorate photo frames, and I was loving the heck out of that! There was a ton of washi tape, rhinestones, Mickey buttons and more! I could have decorated all night.. Here was my final creation-
But there’s missing something, right? Well, I tested out the HP Cards App and printed this little cutie-
HP Cards is exactly how it sounds, you can again pull images from social media or the camera roll on your phone and create cute cards and postcards!
I met tons of other great bloggers during the night, like Shantel of Our Funny Little Family
And more super fantastic ladies like Denise from Healthy Disney Family, Kendra from Simply {Darr}ling, Amanda from Green Travel Gurl, Julie from Saving Up for Disney, Faith from FaVe Mom, Jana from Merlot Mommy, Pepper from Pepper Scraps, Cristi from Motherhood Unadorned, and way, way more!
I left that evening with my head spinning of all the creative possibilities! It was so much fun to meet new people and get a chance to test out new technology!
I have to give an enormous thank you to Maria Bailey of BSM Media, HP, MyPrintly and many more! Thank you so much for extending the invite! 🙂
Up Next: Disney Social Media Moms Celebration On The Road Portland!
Disclosure: I was invited to events by Disney Social Media Moms Celebration On the Road and MyPrintly in Portland. Both were free to attend, and I am under no obligation to post. I did receive some event swag along the way. All opinions are most certainly my own.
